WATER

The Lima Escape Camping & Glamping with its privileged location in the very heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park and flanked by river Lima is the paradise for the water activities´ lovers. It´s a beautiful peninsula located in Ponte da Barca, Viana de Castelo district, Northern Portugal. You could easily visit some nice natural lagoons and waterfalls located nearby or do some of a grate range of water activities.

In partnership with the top local companies Lima Escape presents different types of water activities including Kayak renting, Canoagem or Stand Up Paddle, Canyoning and fishing licence for sport fishing.

LAGOONS

There are four lagoons in the vicinity of Lima Escape Camping & Glamping. The nearest lagoon is designated as L1, and is located only 800 meters from the Lima Escape. It’s an easily accessible quiet place and has an area suitable for children and even babies. A true paradise. The second nearest lagoon is located about 2 kilometres from the Lima Escape and it´s a bit bigger. The third nearest lagoon is located about 6,5 kilometres from Lima Escape. The lagoon is perfectly round and offers you a possibility to stay in dropping water of beautiful waterfall. Finally, the fourth closest lagoon is located about 7 kilometres from the Lima Escape and it´s a kind of natural pool fed by a 10-meter waterfall. Amazing!

L1 CHÃO D’ALÉM LAGOON

Distance from the park: 0.8km

Route: this is the closest lagoon and to get there just turn left at the cross-road with the national road and then turn right 70 meters after the bridge. There is a wooden sign on the corner with a small path going in the middle of eucalypts. At the end of the path is the lagoon.

Brief description: A big lagoon, a great place for families.

L2 POÇO DE FROUFE LAGOON

Distance from the park: 2.1km

Route: To get to the 2^nd lagoon just turn left at the cross-road with the national road, pass the bridge, pass the 1^st lagoon sign and keep going some more 300 meters (on the national road). Turn right at the first cross-road with the national road. Keep going until you get to a small bridge and see the lagoon under.

Description: Rather big lagoon a bit deeper than the 1^st one.

L3 POÇO DA CARCERELHA

Distance from the park: 6.4km

Route: To 3rd lagoon it´s probably better to get by car. So, go straight forward at the cross-road with the national road, keep going always straight on the main road in direction to Ermida. You will pass several villages and thereafter come to the wooden sign on the road. The lagoon will be on your left side.

Coordinates: 41º48′ 44.44″N, 8º15’43.57″O

Brief description: Rather big lagoon with a waterfall, a nice place to spend the morning with the family.

L4 POÇO NEGRO

Distance from the park: 6.8km
Route: The 4^th lagoon is also better reachable by car. To get there go straight forward at the cross-road with the national road, keep going always straight on the main road in direction to Ermida. You will pass several villages, the wooden sign for the 3^rd lagoon and come to the bridge. The lagoon is under the bridge. Please be careful going down to the lagoon as it could be slippery.

Coordinates: 41º 48º 41.63″N, 8º 15′ 32.59″O

Description: A big lagoon with a 10-meter waterfall suitable for the most adventurous spirits.

KAYAK

Kayak rental service is available for 20 euros per person (special price for Lima Escape Camping & Glamping guests).

From 03:00 p.m. to 06:00 p.m.

CANOING AND SUP

CANYONING

Canyoning is a nature and adventure experience that allows you to discover the most impressive and hidden wonders of Peneda-Gerês National Park. It is a very dynamic activity to experience with your partner or your friends. Your safety is guaranteed by professional guides, specialized in this particular activity and with many years of experience.

Price: 70€ per person (boots rental included)

FISHING

You can get information on the Municipal Regulation of the Recreational Fishing Area of the Touvedo Dam and get the daily license to fish in this area (national or regional license required).
